Hey guys! If you want to know WHERE you should be building your audience online to get you the BIGGEST results, then this video is for you!

Building an audience isn’t quick and easy, and we’re not here to say it is… BUT… there are things that will make it QUICKER… and EASIER… or SLOWER… and HARDER

Where to build an audience

WHERE should you focus your attention?

We could be building an audience on YouTube, on Facebook, on Instagram, on LinkedIn, on our Podcast, Facebook Groups, on our website, on Twitter, on TikTok, on Twitch, on Snapchat with our printed newsletter… so many places…

And what makes them seem like they’re ALL great options is that we see people having HUGE successes on all of them.

There are influencers, entrepreneurs, business owners with huge audiences on all those platforms… and so each platform seems like it’s ideal for us… and therefore we try to be on them all.

This is the biggest mistake you can make when trying to build an audience, because you simply don’t have time to build an audience on each of them.

And when you look at it, no-one does this… celebrities may have thousands or millions of followers on everything, BUT when you look at non-celebrities, small businesses, personal brands, and people who have KILLED IT online with no celebrity name… they did NOT build their audience by being everywhere…

They built their audience by doing one thing in one place remarkably well.

The 90:10 Rule

We call this the 90:10 rule and this rule says we should spend 90% of our time doing one thing remarkably well.

But where’s is that one place?

Well firstly write down all the places where you can make a business case for being on that platform.

For example, if you’re a web designer, your clients are probably on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. but probably not TikTok or Snapchat. For some businesses this can really narrow it down, for others it’s still super broad when your clients are everywhere.

Where will you enjoy building an audience?

Secondly, ask yourself, what do you enjoy the most?

To build an audience you need to be consistent and to do something consistently you actually need to enjoy it, so we think that the answer to where should you build your audience is this:

“Where you enjoy creating content for the most, as long as your potential customers hang out there too”

If you’re a Web Designer who loves LinkedIn – knock yourself out. If you’re a Web Designer who loves getting creative with Insta Stories – knock yourself out.

As long as you can make the business case for being there – do what you love doing the most, do it consistently, and that’s how you’ll build your audience.
