Does this sound familiar?

You want to start making some money online so you start creating your digital products, you start mapping out the outline and you get excited…

… but then you realise you want some extra credibility and you need to write a book, so you start writing a book as well and you map out the chapters 🤓

Then the next month comes around and you hear about Facebook Messenger Bots and how amazing the open rate and click through rate is and you start to think you should have a chatbot pop up on your site, so start learning how to create them… 🤖

Then you think you might have a shot at speaking at an event you want to speak at, so you start putting together a pitch for it and mapping ut some talk ideas…

But you keep going with the digital product because that’s actually how you want to grow the business, and at the same time you put in a few hours a week continuing to write your book and also now you have some bot subscribers so you have to make time to send them something and, oh look, you got that gig and now you have to spend time putting together a talk and preparing for it and you’re time is split even further.

And it goes on and on and on!

Until eventually your time is just filled with ‘stuff’. All this stuff that you think you need to be doing, but actually you don’t.

You become oversubscribed.

Focus on doing one thing remarkably well

If you want success, you need to stop doing all these other things that are filling up your time so that you can focus on doing one thing remarkably well to get results.

If you know our content, then you’ll know that we have a rule, called the ’90:10 rule’ for getting bigger results with your content marketing. But we think the same rule applies to your business as a whole.

The 90:10 rule states that you should spend 90% of your efforts doing just one thing remarkably well, and 10% of your efforts experimenting with everything else.

You’ll have so much more time if you stop doing all this ‘stuff’ and spreading yourself too thin. It’ll mean that you’ll see infinitely greater results from your focused time… that 90% 🙌

For example, if you just focused down right now and stopped doing everything else, how quickly could you write a book? We meet so many people that have been ‘writing a book’ for years!

Our books typically take us 2 – 6 weeks to complete from start to finish because we literally do nothing else in that time. See how effective that can be?

This doesn’t mean you can‘t do more in the future, that you should never create digital products or build a chatbot, it just means you should do one thing at a time. And focus 90% of your efforts on it until you’ve reached your goal.

So, just choose one niche to target, have one amazing product, have one incredible service offering and focus on them until the’ve reached their potential.
