We wanted to help you start 2020 with a bang 💥 — and for you guys that means only one thing: sales. And plenty of them.

Only we know that most of you guys don’t particularly love sales (massive understatement, right?). So we’ve come up with 5 easy ways for you to increase your customers, without the stress of hard selling.

It’s all about handraiser content

The key to taking the ick-factor out of sales is finding out who in your network is actually interested in a product or service like yours. So you need to do a bit of fishing and for that you need some kind of bait. We call this handraiser content.✋

Handraiser content is, without a doubt, THE best way to take the awkwardness out of selling. For example, it can feel pretty gross to go up to someone and say, ‘hey, you should buy from me’. But if that same person has already proven that they’re interested in what you’re offering — if they’ve signed up to your gated content — they’re saying to you, ‘hey, tell me about your product, I’m interested’.

It’s a completely different dynamic!

So how do you use handraiser content to increase your sales? Well, there are 5 ways to go about it.

1.Email consent

This is where you promote a gated piece of content in return for an email address. It may be an informational PDF, a webinar or even just your weekly newsletter that people have to sign up to. Whatever it is, by handing over their email address (not something people do lightly these days!), they’re showing that they’re interested in what you’re doing. They’ve raised their hand.

So can you swoop in at this point and close the sale? Well, not quite yet. They’re interested, yes, but not necessarily ready to buy. For example, signing up for a newsletter doesn’t show super high intent to buy (yet), but a price guide for your services? That’s your time to swoop!

And because you now have an email address, you can.👍

If you want more sales, you need to be proactive in creating hand raisers so you have a steady stream of new people, all interested in what you’re doing.

2.Direct contact

The next handraiser is direct contact; this is where people are more or less waving their hand in the air and yelling, ‘yes, we’re interested!’ It could be someone contacting you via your website contact form, or someone sending you a direct message. And while this might sound like a really obvious handraiser, lots of business owners aren’t proactive enough with this one.

Our favourite thing to do here is to create a double positive Instagram Story poll. So we’ll get the people watching our story to vote on a poll that might indicate that they’re interested. For example, if you were a VA, you might ask the question: ‘who’s got a VA?’ And rather than the usual yes/no poll, give the options: ‘yes’ and ‘thinking about it’. Or ‘yes’ and ‘what does a VA do?’ This way you can see who’s interested and start a conversation in a DM based on what they voted for.

It’s a super easy handraiser that you could do today!

3.Remarketing

This is one of our favourite handraisers and we go into way more detail about this (and the next two handraisers) in our £7, 30-day Get a New Client challenge.

Remarketing is where you use a tracking pixel to retarget people who’ve engaged with one of your ads.

For example, if you’ve created a Facebook video all about your service or product, you could send an ad to everyone who watched over 50% of that video. Hey, if they got that far, they’re pretty interested, right? They’ve metaphorically raised their hand and might just need a tiny nudge to get them over the line and actually make a purchase.

4.Tagging people who’ve clicked on email links

Say you’ve sent out an email about your coaching programme and people click the link to check it out; that’s another handraiser moment. They’re clearly interested, so be sure to follow up

Send a follow up email, or a bonjoro — either way, start a conversation. We guarantee there are people on your email list who are on the fence about joining and they just need a few more facts, a few more answers, or the smallest of pushes to get rid of any lingering doubts.

So always go back and see who’s been clicking on what.

Our top tip? Send one more sales email than you’re comfortable with. You’ll be amazed at how often this works!

5.Messenger bots

We 💗 messenger bots, they’re just the coolest way to get to those handraisers — you might even have seen the chatbot pop up on our sales pages?

If you’ve never used one, it’s essentially a way for you to use an automated conversation to qualify visitors to your sales pages and turn them into hot prospects. The bot can convince them to join or buy OR you can dive into the chat and have a conversation with the prospect yourself.

Chatbots have totally revolutionised our sales. Why not go and check it out on our website to get a feel for how it works? Oh, and if you’re totally sold on these already but not sure how to set it up, we have a step-by-step course in Atomic, created by the world’s best chatbot expert who knows how to make it all super simple for you!

Okay, guys, ready to go smash those sales? Awesome! Let us know which handraiser you’re starting with and how you get on.

Buuuut, if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed and don’t know where to start…or if you’re still feeling 😱 about sales, we have two things that’ll help:

Firstly, keep watching because the next video in this playlist is exactly what you need. We’re going to uncover all of the deeper reasons that you’re not selling as much as you could be, and, more importantly, we’ll show you how to overcome these blocks.

And don’t forget you can still take us up on our £7 Get a New Client Challenge. It’s essentially a £7 trial of Atomic where we give you a series of challenges and accountability to give you laser-like focus as you take action to get a new client within the month. The idea is that if you get a new client you can continue to replicate this success as an Atomic member, and if not, you can get a refund.

So it’s either £7 and get a new client — or get a refund. Hopefully see you in there!
